Work Play Earth Day

The 5th Annual Work Play Earth Day is coming and the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks are looking for lots of volunteers to help.

Events will be held over 4 Saturdays: April 13th, April 20th, April 27th and May 4th at 20 state parks, trails and forests. Volunteers will clean up trash, rake leaves, paint picnic tables and buildings, plant trees, build memorial benches, prepare campgrounds and make the park ready for another year of fun.

For a list of which parks are holding events and how to sign up to help visit the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks website Work*Play*Earth Day 2013

Can YOU Make a Difference?

Did you know this Saturday, October 23rd is "Make a Difference Day"?

What is "Make a Difference Day"?

From Facebook: "For 20 years, USA WEEKEND and HandsOn Network, a business unit of Points of Light Institute, have joined together to sponsor Make A Difference Day, the largest national day of community service. Held annually on the fourth Saturday in October, Make A Difference Day is a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors."

John F Kennedy said “One person can make a difference and every person should try.”
